FIAT, 120 YEARS OF AUTOMOTIVE HISTORY
The brand name is nothing more than an acronym which means: Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Turino; in other words: the Italian automobile factory in Turin. The Italian car brand was established in 1899 by thirty shareholders. Among these founders, there is an emblematic figure who really stood out from his peers when he took the helm of the company in 1902; it is Giovanni Agnelli. Agnelli was a visionary whose ambition was to produce cars accessible to all and to popularize them quickly. From the early years of the company, it developed at an exceptional speed and the number of workers and factories grew in parallel with that of vehicle production. With the company's diversification policy (aeronautical and marine engines, buses, trams and trucks), international exports start very early.
The cars of the Turin brand
The first car model to emerge is called 3.5 HP. The latter was produced in 26 copies by the workers of the mark between 1899 and 1901. It was the first in a long line of vehicles. At the beginning of the 1920s, the Turinese brand began to release its type 5 cars which in 1936 gave birth to the famous 500. This model, which was design, original, functional, robust and accessible to the greatest number, had a huge success in Italy. Indeed, the model 500 represented the car par excellence that every Italian had to own. This car therefore for a long time embodied an ideal to be achieved for the Italian people and even contributed sharply to the boom in the Italian economy.
CARS IN PHASE WITH THEIR TIME
After the boom of the Italian economy, at the end of the 70s until the beginning of the 2000s, famous models such as the Panda, the Tipo, the Punto or even the Stilo, followed one another. More recently, the brand decided to update its iconic models in new, more sophisticated versions. This is how the Grande Punto, Panda and 500, to name but these cars, inherited a design synonymous with innovation and reworked for the occasion, design materials that are still as robust as possible, as well as the latest technologies. automobiles. The Abarth brand has even reimagined the iconic 500 to make it one of the most efficient sports cars.
A STORY THAT NOURISHES THE FUTURE
The Italian manufacturer, justifying an international reputation which it owes to an experience of 120 years, has since its beginnings the ambition to combine innovation, quality, robustness and reliability in its cars. It must be said that in more than a century, the brand has largely deserved its prestige given that it has managed to remain authentic, while evolving with the times by offering vehicles that are always as qualitative, trendy and original.
In order to appeal to as many users as possible by responding precisely to their different needs, the Italian brand has chosen to segment its cars into several distinct ranges. Indeed, the Turinese brand also offers city cars, crossovers, family vehicles, or sports cars. In the city car department, for example, we find the 500, Panda and Qubo models. The brand also offers family models with the 500L and Doblò, sedans with the Tipo, SUVs with the 500 X, sports cars...
