Lamborghini unveils its first electric car, the Lanzador, marking a major turning point in the history of the Italian brand. Having begun its electric transition with the hybrid-powered Revuelto, Lamborghini is now moving towards full electrification.<\/p>\n
Unlike some luxury carmakers, Lamborghini has opted for a smooth transition by starting with hybridisation, preserving its emblematic V12 engine with the Revuelto. The Lanzador concept car represents the brand’s first foray into the electric car segment, rising to the challenge of retaining the performance and essence of the brand while embracing environmentally-friendly technology.<\/p>\n
The Lanzador falls into a new category called ‘ultra GT’ and breaks with Lamborghini’s previous designs. With its looks reminiscent of certain features of the Countach, it boasts high ground clearance but is not described as an SUV, setting it apart from the rest of comparable production. The model’s cabin has a sober layout, with two separate screens under caps for the driver and passenger. The glass roof adds natural light to the interior.<\/p>\n
The real revolution lies in the Lanzador’s electric powertrain. Powered by two motors placed on each axle, it boasts a total output of 1,340 bhp, no less… This electric car is equipped with all-wheel drive and a torque vectoring system for improved traction. Although precise performance data is not yet available, the impressive power promises performance worthy of Lamborghini’s reputation.<\/p>\n
Production of the Lanzador will begin in 2028 at Sant’Agata Bolognese, but no price has yet been announced. This new stage marks the resolutely electric turn taken by Lamborghini, while retaining the exclusivity and performance that have long defined the brand.<\/p>\n
