The Jeep Wrangler plug-in hybrid has just been launched in Europe in its "First Edition" version. The challenge was sizeable: to keep the look, style and personality of a "real" 4X4 while bringing it into the hybrid era: a successful match for this new high-performance, comfortable and connected version.

Jeep Wrangler 4xe: innovation at the service of performance

Jeep's third vehicle to adopt the plug-in hybrid system comes with a 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine that is mated to another electric motor to enable the automatic transmission to deliver 375 horsepower.

This performance is by far the highest in this range of vehicles, specifically the diesel and gasoline versions. An all-terrain vehicle capable of crossing the 100 km / h barrier in 6 seconds is quite simply unique!

You have the choice between three operating modes:

  • the Electric mode allows you to drive only on electric waves
  • Hybrid mode does not use both motors until the battery power is depleted
  • in eSave mode, the battery is recharged via the gasoline engine.

A button is specially provided to the right of the steering wheel to choose the mode in which you want to drive.

JEEP WRANGLER HYBRID: CHARACTERISTICS THAT ALLURE

We cannot talk about this 4xe version without dwelling on its high quality battery. Housed under the rear seats, the large 17.3 kWh lithium energy box provides a range of 50 km in the WLTP cycle. Very eco-friendly, this rechargeable car has an emission of 79 g CO2 / km. As for the consumption in the WLTP cycle, it is on average 3.5 l / 100 km.

A charging port is provided on the driver's side to fill up the battery. More precisely, you have a 7.2 kW connector housed in a hatch on the left front fender. The easyWalbox allows you to charge the vehicle very quickly and controls the electricity consumption of your home to avoid power cuts. Allow about 3 hours of time for a complete recharge on a 7.4 kW terminal.
