ALFA ROMEO TONALE: THE FIRST HYBRID SUV BY ALFA ROMEO

While the manufacturer's SUV offer is currently limited to the Stelvio SUV and the Giulia saloon, the Alfa Romeo Tonale completes an already very attractive range. This model marks a clear break with its two predecessors for two major reasons: it will not use the Giorgio platform and it is Alfa Romeo's first hybrid vehicle.

The latest plug-in hybrid version, powered by the 1.3 T4 PHEV AT6, with 280 horsepower, is now available for testing at dealerships. It will be a wise choice for lovers of style, elegance, performance and efficiency.

ITALIAN DESIGN AT THE SERVICE OF HYBRIDISATION AT ALL LEVELS

Before the Alfa Romeo Tonale sports SUV hits the showrooms, the Edizione Speciale kicks off the show. The exterior design features the stylistic characteristics of an Alfa Romeo, which have been reinterpreted for the occasion in a modern and functional way. The design of the new model, led by Klaus Busse, borrows certain features from the famous Brera and SZ.

As mentioned earlier, the Alfa Romeo Tonale is the first electrified Alfa Romeo. The carmaker offers the following engines for sale: 1.5 L MHEV DCT7 130 hp petrol and 1.5 L MHEV DCT7 160 hp petrol with mild hybridisation. At the top of the range, a Q4 version offers the 280 horsepower 1.3 T4 PHEV AT6 petrol engine. This is a plug-in hybrid with a 15.5 kWh battery for a sportier driving experience. When used in "all-electric" mode. The Alfa Romeo Tonale has a range of between 60 and 80 kilometres and reaches 100 km/h in just 6.2 seconds.

The model is equipped with 20-inch alloy wheels and red 4-piston brake calipers. On the front of the vehicle, Matrix Full LED adaptive headlights replace the traditional headlights. There is also a power tailgate system at the rear. And to top it all off, the vehicle's interior can be accessed without a key.

 

A HIGHLY TECHNOLOGICAL AND CONNECTED INTERIOR

The new Alfa Romeo SUV is a real concentrate of technology with a complete range of state-of-the-art equipment. In particular, the driver will be able to benefit from the new "Alfa Connect Services", which include numerous functions and guarantee a safe and pleasant driving experience. The Tonale's features include a 10.25-inch TFT touchscreen, voice control and integrated GPS navigation, as well as access to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wirelessly, depending on the smartphone used.

And when it comes to comfort and driving pleasure, the Alfa Romeo Tonale is not to be outdone with a leather sports steering wheel with brushed aluminium paddles and an induction smartphone charger. Another innovation from the Italian brand on this vehicle is the My Alfa Connect mobile application, which will allow the car's charge level to be monitored and the cabin temperature to be managed remotely. For an optimal and safe driving experience, the model also features a 360-degree rear view camera, adaptive cruise control and a traffic sign recognition system.

Finally, the Alfa Romeo Tonale's latest innovation is that it will be the very first vehicle on the market to feature NFT (Non Fungible Token) technology. The NFT will be used to certify and record the SUV's data and will even serve as a guarantee for the vehicle's maintenance.
