ALFA ROMEO, STORY OF A LEGEND

It was in June 1910 that the A.L.F.A (Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili) was born in Milan. Giuseppe Meroni, the Technical Director, designed with his team in 1911 the first model to achieve the feat of reaching 100 km / h! But the outbreak of World War I bankrupted the company.
Under the leadership of Nicolas Romeo, who converted the production plants to the manufacture of military equipment, the debts managed to be cleared. The ALFA company therefore joined the Italian industrialist and became Alfa-Roméo in 1918.
The resumption of automobile production was initially modest and it was thanks to the realization of the RL with the 6-cylinder engine that Alfa Romeo took off on a worldwide scale.

A victorious century of motor racing

It was under the leadership of Enzo Ferrari that the brand will experience its peak in motor racing.

The test driver, then unknown to the general public, goes with his team to participate in the design of the P2, which will win numerous events for more than 10 years, including the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Despite this growing success, the brand was once again on the brink in 1933, because motor racing was expensive and models produced for the general public were only accessible to a certain elite. It was then the Italian state that saved Alfa Romeo from bankruptcy by adapting the production of its workshops to satisfy Mussolini's wishes for war.

From the early 1960s until today, the “quadrifoglio” brand has alternated good times and failed commercial operations, until today it is one of the greatest legendary brands.
