THE HURACáN, CONCENTRATED PERFORMANCE AND TECHNOLOGY
From the same stock as the Gallardo, the model it replaced in 2014, the Lamborghini Huracán is a car that stands out from the rest. The sharp styling of the Lamborghini marque breathes dynamism and a sporting character. This 2019 new arrival improves performance levels, already of the first order, even further. Let's look around the car...
The Lamborghini Huracán (which literally means “hurricane”) is a supercar which first appeared in the Geneva show in 2014 as the successor to the famous Gallardo. Since 2019, the model has undergone a second phase of production to offer even more impressive performance: The Huracán EVO. This beauty hosts a naturally aspirated V10 engine producing from 580 to 640 horsepower. It can achieve 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and a maximum speed of 330 km/h. There is so much here telling you that the company doesn’t just want this to be a bit-part player in the super sports car parking lot.
Ever faithful to the principles behind the company’s success, the Huracán has curves and careful design which blend sporting character, elegance and aggression. The full LED headlights give it an imposing bearing to match its reputation. The carbon fibre finish which it proudly wears are a badge of distinction of this exceptional model.
Interior and equipment: unparalleled comfort
As for the passenger compartment, this newcomer to the Lamborghini stable is as comfortable as possible, with custom finishes available in leather, in Alcantara or carbon-fibre for very high-quality results. The top of the range on-board technology that the model offers also contributes to the charm and unique driving experience delivered by the Huracan.
The success of this model is plain for all to see; the Huracan is the second best-selling Lamborghini model of all time after the Gallardo, with no fewer than 10,000 vehicles sold between 2014 and 2018. Elegance therefore goes hand in hand with performance when it comes to the Lamborghini Huracán.
The Huracán RANGE
HURACáN TECNICA: A PARTICULARLY INSPIRED RESTYLING
The latest model in the famous Huracán range, the Tecnica combines performance and aesthetics with lines reminiscent of the Super Trofeo EVO2 and notably incorporates the engine of the STO. Both the front and rear of the vehicle have been reworked to offer more aerodynamics and guarantee optimum stability and road comfort. New 20-inch Damiso rims equip this model, which is 4.567 meters long. His weight is 1,379 kg. Inside the cabin, there are adjustable sports seats, safety harnesses and a completely renovated digital instrument cluster.
In terms of its engine, the Tecnica has many technical similarities with the STO as evidenced by its engine with a V10 5.2 which develops 640hp for 565 Nm of torque. Everything is mated to a dual-clutch automatic transmission with 7 gears. The maximum speed of this version is 325km/h and it will only take 3.2 seconds to reach 100km/h. One of the special features of the Technica is that it is equipped with a truly innovative traction control system. Likewise, the supercar offers several different driving modes, namely Corsa, Sport and Strada.
HURACáN STO: THE BEST HURACáN?
One of the latest evolutions of the famous Italian supercar launched in 2014, the Huracán STO is a vibrant tribute to its predecessors, the GT3 and the Super Trofeo. Thus, the Super Trofeo Omologata (STO) presents itself as a racing car homologated for the road. As such, this version has benefited from numerous optimizations in terms of weight, aerodynamics and even motorization. With a body made up of 75% carbon fiber, this model weighs 1,339 kg, or 43 kg less than its predecessor. The Lamborghini has a completely revised profile and features a special body part, the "Cofongo", which incorporates both the front bonnet and the fenders for increased aerodynamic performance.
In terms of engine, the STO is equipped with a variant of the 5.2 L V10 engine and 640 horsepower at 8,000 rpm. Like its counterparts cut for motor racing, this model has two rear-wheel drive. Its maximum speed is 310 km/h with only 3 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h. The cabin is like the rest of the Supercar with the use of high quality materials and a prominent place in carbon fiber. The use of this material on the seats and in various places increases the feeling of sportiness of the vehicle. Two finishes are also available, namely Alcantara and Carbon Skin. The STO is also a connected car via the Lamborghini Connect system and its various navigation services (Car Finder, Real Time traffic information, etc.).
HURACáN EVO: CONCENTRATED CHARACTER AND PERFORMANCE
The Huracán EVO is a version which embodies Lamborghini’s evolution to even more astonishing levels. This Huracán is in fact the result of high-quality meticulous work, which has allowed the driver’s needs to be matched to the car’s reactions. Indeed, the integral LDVI (‘Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata’) system brilliantly allows drivers to manage the Huracan Evo's dynamics. The intelligent system anticipates drivers’ needs and adapts independently and instantaneously as a function of the selected driving mode and the external environment. The aerodynamic design of the car is further optimised with an improved 640 horsepower engine, a high-performance wheel-steering system and bodywork designed to further facilitate the passage of air. High quality materials (leather, Alcantara and carbon-fibre) used for the interior of the car contribute to ensuring even more driver comfort. The new MMI also uses an ultra-modern touch-screen on the central console to show the car's behaviour and characteristics in real time, to receive road information and use the entertainment options that are available to their utmost.
THE HURACáN EVO SPYDER
This model has a convertible Huracán Spyder version. The aerodynamics of the car are always more optimal. With an improved 640 horsepower engine, a powerful wheel steering system, and a bodywork designed to make the passage of air even easier. The high quality materials (leather, Alcantara, carbon) used for the interior of the car, always contribute more to the comfort of the driver. In addition, the new HMI interface allows via an ultra modern touch screen on the central console, to know in real time the behavior and characteristics of his car, to receive traffic information, as well as to take full advantage entertainment options available.
HURACáN EVO RWD: A SUPERCAR AT THE SERVICE OF DRIVING PLEASURE
The Huracán EVO RWD inherited the advantages of the 2019 version, while adopting a reworked and specific propulsion design. This new sports car now uses two-wheel drive, compared with four on the old version. By opting for this type of transmission, the brand with the bull wished once again to return to its very essence: sportiness par excellence. Thanks to a balanced weight distribution (40% / 60%), advanced mechanics and technologies, the sensations and the driving pleasure are undoubtedly at the rendezvous! The materials of its body, aluminum and carbon fiber, as well as the two less directional wheels, also allowed EVO RWD to gain a few kilos compared to the classic version. Indeed, the new Huracán EVO is now 33 kilograms lighter and has a dry weight of 1,389 kilograms, compared to 1,422 kilograms for the 2019 Evo.
HURACVáN EVO RWD SPYDER
The Huracán EVO RWD is also available in a Sypder version for even more sensations. 100 km / h are reached in just 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 325 km / h! Although this supersport lost 30 horsepower compared to the Huracán EVO and its 640 horsepower engine, it still justifies 30 horsepower more than the old rear-wheel drive Huracán; the LP580-2. In order to allow you to take maximum pleasure while maintaining control of your vehicle, the manufacturer has taken care to integrate innovative driving assistance technologies, combining both dynamism and traction! In fact, the Huracán EVO 2020 has a high performance power steering (EPS) system that allows it to adapt to all eventualities by providing you with the best possible steering assistance, regardless of the driving mode chosen. The result of the manufacturer's innovation, the P-TCS system, exclusive to EVO RWD, also improves torque management by optimizing in particular grip, handling and driving sensations!
