New Fiat 500 Hybrid: a chic and accessible city car

A highly anticipated micro-hybrid version

Fiat is expanding the range of its iconic city car with a micro-hybrid engine, scheduled for November 2025. Until now available only as a 100% electric version, the Fiat 500 will now appeal to a wider audience by offering a more accessible petrol alternative, featuring a six-speed manual gearbox. This strategic decision meets the expectations of drivers who value the pleasure of driving and everyday simplicity.

This new version will be produced at the historic Mirafiori plant in Turin, alongside the Fiat 500e. Fiat plans to build 5,000 units by the end of the year, with an ambitious annual target of 100,000 vehicles. It will be available as a coupé, convertible, and 3+1-door (Trepiuno) version to suit all lifestyles.

A frugal and agile powertrain, designed for the city

Under the bonnet, the Fiat 500 Hybrid houses the naturally aspirated 1.0 Firefly three-cylinder engine, paired with a 12V micro-hybrid system. Already proven on the Panda Hybrid, this engine delivers 70 horsepower and ensures smooth, efficient driving perfectly suited to urban use. The mild hybrid system helps reduce fuel consumption and emissions while maintaining the responsiveness expected from a modern city car.

Unlike other Stellantis group models, this version retains a true manual gearbox for a more direct driving experience. The technical adjustment made to the STLA City platform – originally designed for electric powertrains – allows this engine to be integrated seamlessly, without compromising space or style.

A design faithful to the icon, with an exclusive touch

In terms of styling, the Fiat 500 Hybrid retains all the charm that made this urban icon so successful. Its redesigned front bumper includes a new air intake to cool the engine without altering its rounded, elegant lines. Inside, the dashboard now integrates the six-speed manual gearbox smoothly within a modern, connected interior.

Standard features include the Uconnect 5 multimedia system, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. To mark its launch, Fiat will also introduce a special edition called “500 Torino”, paying tribute to its home city, its workers, and the brand’s heritage. This limited series will combine style, refinement, and a collector’s spirit.

The new Fiat 500 Hybrid will soon arrive in our Segond Automobiles showroom. You will soon be able to discover it and test it on the road. Contact us now to schedule a test drive or receive a personalized offer.
