Porsche 911 Dakar: the return of a legend
From 1984 to today, water has flowed under the bridge and the German brand has decided to give its legendary model that won the Paris-Dakar rally in the 80’s a makeover to bring you the Porsche 911 Dakar. Limited to just 2,500 units, this new car is perfectly suited to off-roading, with its suspension raising it to over 80mm.
PORSCHE 911 DAKAR: EXCLUSIVE SPORTS PERFORMANCE
The least that can be said about the German manufacturer is that it dares. After the electric sedan and the SUV, the new Porsche 911 Dakar fascinates us with its exclusive off-road capabilities. Basically, this car is 50 mm higher. However, compared to the GTS version, the suspension can be adjusted to 80 mm thanks to a “lift” system that can be activated at speeds of up to 170 km/h. You have here a model that is based on the 911 GTS 4 version with PDK gearbox.
In terms of performance, you will not be disappointed! The 3.0 litre turbocharged engine of the 911 GTS with its 470 horsepower is rediscovered. It’s a sporty car with an acceleration time of 3.4 seconds from 0-100 km/h. The top speed is around 240 km/h. The total weight is 1,605 kg and is only 10 kg heavier than the 911 Carrera GTS 4. In order to keep the character of the car on the road, the designers of this SUV have provided for very sporty tyres: the Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain. But don’t worry! Off-road and rally modes are included to allow you to tackle mud, snow, sand and other difficult conditions without too much difficulty.
As far as design is concerned, Porsche remains true to its reputation with a very neat finish. All that remains is for you to try out the Porsche 911 Dakar to discover its many other qualities.
