AUDI RS 3 COMPETITION LIMITED: THE LEGACY OF THE FIVE-CYLINDER

The Audi RS 3 competition limited is part of a mechanical tradition that began in 1976 with the introduction of the five-cylinder engine at Audi. To celebrate 50 years of this now iconic architecture, Audi Sport offers an exclusive version of its high-performance compact model. Produced in just 750 units worldwide, including only a handful for the French market, this limited edition highlights the importance of this engine in the brand’s sporting history.

Under the bonnet lies the renowned 2.5 TFSI engine, unique in the compact sports segment. This turbocharged five-cylinder combines high power with a distinctive mechanical character, notably thanks to its specific firing order, which produces an instantly recognisable sound. It is paired with quattro all-wheel drive and advanced chassis technologies that enhance agility and driving precision.

Beyond its performance, this anniversary version also stands out through its exclusive presentation, both inside and out. Each unit features individual numbering and incorporates specific styling details, reinforcing the rare and sought-after character of this Audi RS 3 unlike any other.

DESIGN, POWERTRAIN AND PERFORMANCE

The Audi RS 3 competition limited asserts its sporty character at first glance. Its wide Singleframe grille, combined with sculpted side air intakes, shapes a particularly expressive front end. Matte carbon elements, notably on the front splitters, side skirts, rear wing and diffuser, emphasise the model’s aerodynamic dimension.

This special edition also features 19-inch cross-spoke wheels finished in matte Neodymium Gold. Three body colours are available: Daytona Grey, Glacier White matte and exclusive Malachite Green, inspired by the historic Audi Sport quattro.

Under the bonnet, the 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder engine delivers 400 hp and 500 Nm of torque. Thanks to this unique powertrain, the RS 3 competition limited accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 290 km/h. The RS exhaust system, equipped with controlled valves, further enhances the engine’s distinctive sound, especially in the sportiest driving modes.

Driving dynamics are further enhanced by a specific coilover suspension and a reinforced rear stabiliser bar. These settings allow precise adjustment of the vehicle’s behaviour according to road conditions and driving style.

TECHNOLOGY, EQUIPMENT AND COMFORT

The interior of the Audi RS 3 competition limited reflects the sporty spirit of the exterior, with an exclusive atmosphere combining black, Neodymium Gold and Ginger White. RS bucket seats provide excellent support thanks to their black leather side bolsters and Dinamica microfibre centre sections. Contrast stitching and specific decorative inserts underline the uniqueness of this edition.

Each vehicle features individual numbering engraved on the centre console, highlighting its limited production status. Floor mats, headrests and the luggage compartment mat also carry the “RS 3 competition limited” inscription.

The driver’s environment is structured around the Virtual Cockpit Plus and a 10.1-inch central touchscreen. Specific RS displays allow monitoring of numerous performance data, such as instantaneous engine power, G-forces, mechanical temperatures and lap times.

The flat-top and flat-bottom sport steering wheel, trimmed in Dinamica and featuring a central marker, makes it easier to read steering position during dynamic driving. The overall result is a driver-focused environment combining technological precision and a sporty atmosphere, true to the spirit of Audi Sport models.
